Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) will expand and upgrade Bharti Airtel’s, India’s number one telecom services provider, 2.5 G network by 50 per cent across circles, under a $700-million GSM network contract signed between the companies. The contract includes network planning, implementation and project management, handling of local logistics and materials, and system integration for the base transceiver stations.

American Tower Corporation (ATC), an operator of telecom towers, has acquired Kolkata-based tower company Transcend Infrastructure for about Rs 95 crore. With this acquisition, which is the second for the company in India, ATC’s portfolio of towers in India has increased to 2,500 sites.
