Idea Cellular has signed a multi-year agreement to sponsor the current Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Deccan Chargers of Hyderabad. The Adiyta Birla group will be principal partner of the cricket team, starting with the third edition of IPL T20 cricket tournament, scheduled to start in March.

Aditya Birla Group telecom service provider Idea Cellular Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 218.38 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009, down 23.11 per cent, from Rs 284.01 crore recorded during the same period a year ago.
