B K-led Spice Group has decided to merge its two entities – Spice Mobiles and Spice Televentures (STPL) – to create a Rs 2,000 crore telecom firm, Spice Mobility Ltd. The merger, an attempt to consolidate the group’s telecom businesses under a single brand, is subject to regulatory and shareholders’ approval.


Handset maker Spice Mobiles has issued an advisory to customers reassuring them that the company’s handsets has a genuine International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number and is a registered member of the Indian Cellular Organisation (ICA) for manufacturing of GSM and CDMA phones.
